fairytale-europe:

can anyone suggest Spanish/Latin pop singers/music like Juanes or Enrique Iglesias? i’m already in love with them, and would love to hear more like them.
also, any language other than English would be fine :) x

Juanes is the only artist I know well, but I have a few other songs in my pocket here and there like

Torero by Chayanne http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuZzuQvv7uc

El Ultimo Adios by Paulina Rubio http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRLRDvChClM

La Vida es un Carnaval by Celia Cruz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lArGoRhFr4E

and I don’t know him well, but Marc Anthony is popular too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns9YYSqLxyI

ON TO FRENCH

Here’s to weird fun neat songs by Dionysos

Tais-toi mon coeur (Shut up, my heart) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns9YYSqLxyI

Tes Lacets sont des fees (Your laces are fairies) (because in French “fairies” sounds like “untied”)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WPURqRGFag

And Je Suis un Homme by Zazie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpnM6Lfy5Jg

an awesome, moving, shaming, prideful song about humanity

I’m always looking for more too, so let me know any new names!

ANOTHER ENGLISH REVELATION

by means of Foreign Language

Y’know a “remote control”?

Well, in Spanish “remote control” is “mando a distancia,” or basically control from a distance.

So the “remote” doesn’t refer to some new noun which I always associated with remote controls - it’s “remote” as in the adjective meaning “far away” sense.
